About the Event
Our ‘Orchard on Swale’ 2 day workshop, hosted on two seperate permaculture farms, will provide you with the technical & hands-on skills to help manage your own swaled orchard project.
A full 'How To' weekend, from an introduction to Swale Systems, Designing & Planning, Resourcing, Site Set-out, Earthworks Implementation & Pioneer Planting!
Supported by two Permaculture Educators 'Brett Cooper' & 'Rick Barker' and a specialist permaculture Earthworks Operator.
Note, you will be involved at all stages with this 'Start to Finish' project!
The 2 Day Workshop Includes:
Permaculture Principles & the Design Process > in relation to the 'Swaled Orchard' project.
Implementation > Full demonstration with hands-on assistance optional.

- Introduction to 'Swale Systems' design & planning
- Full site set-out & resource managing
- Initial & Main Earthworks
- Grow Mound preparations
- Pioneer seeding & planting
- Optional Strategies & Techniques

2 DAY WORKSHOP OPTIONS
Full price is $600 with no requirement to assist or be hands-on
Discounted price is $450 for full hands-on assistance
$200 initial deposit for registration (please advise in registration comments or email if you will be hands-on or not)
Accomodation
- There is a limited number of onsite camping (your own gear) available - $50 extra (please advise in registration comments or email if camping)
- There is also plenty of awesome accomodation options within a short distance of both farms
